Not to mention, DAR spelled backwards is RAD! Which, very clearly, Erika is!
As a sidenote, I am a queer girl (married to a boy for five + years) who should be finishing her women’s studies finals, but instead is reading this website from top to bottom … a more gushy email is forthcoming, but simply put, where have you been all my life?
Heh. the first time I saw the title of the comic, I thought it was a Search and Rescue reference (long story short: DAR in the Search and Rescue community means Designated Area for Recovery ie. a safe location to pick up someone with a helicopter if they are injured, lost, completely stoned on peyote, etc…) On second thought, that is a pretty good description of this comic, since I feel like I always ‘recover’ some of my good humor and positive energy when I surf over here for a comic or two. Or three. Great stuff, keep up the good work!
actually, my name is Dar. it’s the mother of pearl in hebrew, which i see as a symbol of creative, fruitful treats of femininity.
it also a gift in polish and russian, meaning both a present and talent, a sting in french, and the initials of Die Apokalyptischen Reiter in german, if you’re into heavy metal…
as a bisexual femme queer, i really enjoy the comics =]

On behalf of every reader ever, thanks for clearing that up.

Sometimes it’s short for Darlene, or it can mean Daughters of the American Revolution.
